Ailsa Allaby and Michael Allaby (1999) collective studied defined weathering front as the junction between chemically weathered rocks (regolith) and the sound rocks.

Through chemically weathering, the rocks are chemically weathered to form the regolith. The other rocks remain unweathered to form sound rocks. This unconsolidated materials are divided by the weathering front which acts as a junction. click the link to download more GEOGRAPHY
