NGO Registration


A) NGO Registration Requirements

NGOs are registered with the NGO Co-ordination Bureau of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Vice- President’s office.

NGOs are registered under the NGO CO-ORDINATION ACT, 1990

Requirements:

 

1.   Draft Constitution of Proposed NGO duly signed at the last page by three top officials of the organization preferably the

The secretary should sign all the other pages of the constitution

 

2.   Proposed Budget for the coming 1 to 2 years of operation

 

3.   Minutes of the proceedings of the Board of Directors meeting adopting/approving the following items :

 

q  The name of the proposed organization

q  The constitution of the proposed organization

q  The names of the initial office bearers of the organization (chairman, Treasurer and secretary)

q  The names of members of the Board of Directors (a minimum of five)-includes the three office bearers mentioned above

q  Application for registration of the organization by the NGO co-ordination Bureau.

 

4.   Three application forms for registration each duly filled and signed by the three top officials of the proposed organization:

  • Chairman,
  • Treasurer
  • secretary

 

5.   Two passport size photographs from each of the three top officials of the proposed organization preferably:

  • Chairman
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

 

6.   One copy of the national identity cards/passport of  each of the top three officials of the proposed organization  preferably the

  • Chairman
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

 

7.   FEES:

v  Fee for provision of application forms………………Kshs. 200

v  Name Search                                    ……………….Kshs. 500

v  Registration fee (international)……………………Kshs. 22,000

v  Registration fee (local)………………………………Kshs, 11,000

 

8.   Cover letter to the NGO bureau requesting for registration of the organization
